Ako - Term 1 Concept

In Literacy Room 23's planned and wrote down step by step instructions of a skill they can teach others.  They were encouraged to choose something that they were very good at.

Many of the presentations were presented on google slides while others chose to do a video.

Here are some of the completed slides and videos.

Can you follow their instructions?

Tell us how you went.  We would love to read your feed back on the video's and slides.

Waiata with Whaea Hine

On Thursday the 14th of April Asher's mum (Whaea Hine) came in to do some singing with the students in Room 23!

We sang Stitches, Flash Light and learnt how to ask questions in Maori language. We learnt how to say our name, our age and our favourite colour and how to say auntie and uncle e.g: Ko  Hannah toku ingoa.

My name is Hannah.  Room 23 thought  that Asher's mum was a VERY good singer.  Before she left she gave our teacher some cake and our class two packets of skittles to celebrate Jeremiah's birthday!!!.

All together I thought it was SUPER AWESOMLY FUN!!!

Swimming

In swimming we did free style and backstroke with a kick board pushing it down to our knees.

Lane three is Alfie, lane 2 is cat, lane 1 is Celeste and Cory is the outside teacher. It was supposed to be swimming sports today. (24.3.16) but there was a storm last night. (23.3.16).

Swimming is is fun because one time Alfie pulled us across the lane. Then threw us over the lane rope.

Garden To Table

GARDEN TO TABLE

ON WEDNESDAY MY CLASS DID GARDEN TO TABLE. I WAS IN THE KITCHEN. MY GROUP WAS MAKING COLESLAW,

GROUP TWO WAS MAKING APPLE AND CINNAMON SCONES.

GROUP THREE MADE A COUSCOUS AND ROASTED  VEGEIES SALAD.  IT WAS REALLY FUN. THE GARDEN PEOPLE COLLECTED PARSLEY FOR THE  COLESLAW.  MISS LOLOGA DIRECTED THE GARDEN PEOPLE ALL BY HERSELF.

THAT IS WHAT WE ALL LIKE ABOUT GARDEN TO TABLE THE VERY HELPFUL TEACHERS.
