The Sports Assembly

On the 12th of September the whole school went to the hall for a sports Assembly. Mr Radcliffe handed out the awards for the year threes, fours, fives and sixes cross country. He also handed out the gym awards. We were listening to what different teams had done this term for example the ski team had just came back from Mt Ruapehu and there was a water polo team who were going to play in the finals and lots more. We did a dance acting out all the Olympic sports and five kids from Meadowbank school who had just gone to Wellington for a dance competition and won there category and they might go to Hawaii . (Just saying there was actually ten people but only five go to Meadowbank school and they do it for Rebecca gray dance and they are in a special troupe.) They performed for as and they had to redo the dance a little because they only had five people. That is what happened and I have to say my favorite bit will have to be the dance that the kids performed. I see why they won.

On Monday the Kapa Haka group went to Meadowbank Kindergarten to perform a couple of songs.   It was fun seeing all of the little kids. After we performed we got a little bit of morning tea which was some biscuits and a orange juice.

Tongan Artist Visit

On Monday after lunch we went to the music room no one knew what we were doing.then the teacher said it was Tongan language week and the teacher introduced us to Hai. Hai is Tongan he did not know much English because he was from Tonga.

Hai taught us all about tonga I learnt  a lot about Tonga and people asked questions about him it was very interesting. After the questions Hai taught us a sitting down Tongan dance you have to cross your legs and move your arms. Then he played on the drums well we were doing the tongan dance. After the dancing people asked more questions
then Miss Lologa told the year 4 to put their hands down.

Finally it was time to go so we lined up and since I was so hot walked out and there was so much air splash on my body. Then we went back to class and Hai left as well.  but then we said thank you and the year 4 walked to their classes

We made otai and it was very very yummy and refreshing because it had pineapple chunks , mango and milk! Lucyanne also danced for us and she was very good.
